5 Reasons to Invest in an Email Newsletter
By Hannah Spanhake
In todays world, most of us in business have heard about “Content Marketing” and/or “Social Media Marketing”. The misconception around these two things needs to be broken, because I strongly believe that these two things, actually need to be viewed as two halves of a whole.
What do people share on social media? CONTENT! How do we share content? SOCIAL MEDIA! Although you may try to argue: “But my blog will be found because of my SEO.” or “But my Facebook followers like the funny things I share.” Neither of these will be as effective without the other because they are both necessary for each other to succeed. Lets get into the nitty gritty and break down why content and social walk hand-in-hand.
Engaging Social Media Posts.
If you are one of the many businesses that is only sharing funny memes, photos of you and your team having fun and videos from another businesses website, then you need to change up your Social Media Strategy. Yes, these things probably entice your followers to engage with your posts, which don’t get me wrong, is important! However, don’t be afraid to inform your followers what it is that you do, and how it can help them. This is my Burger Strategy: you need the wholesome, high engagement material on the outsides, crunchy and personalised photos and videos near the middle, but you also need the juicy meat patty full of educational and even at times conversion based material that will send people direct to your website making them potential customers! So yes, you need the funny stuff (as long as it is relevant to your business) to promote engagement, but what is even more necessary is educational and conversion focused content that will drive traffic to your website.
Share Worthy and Influential Content.
Once you have started your burger-fuelled social media strategy, you need to start educating your potential customers by utilising influential content. A blog is a great way to start. Just like I am educating you right now, you can educate your potential customers around the value of your services or products and place yourself as a leader and expert in your field. This can then be shared across all of your social media platforms to entice people to click on the link and read your blog and if they enjoyed it, to share it! Clicks = traffic. Traffic and social shares = more reach. More reach = more potential customers!
Turning followers into buyers.
